North Carolina Tarheels Looking For Revenge Against Duke Blue Devils
North Carolina is one of the most storied college basketball programs in the nation. They have spent time at number one earlier this season, but that ended with a loss to their arch rival, Duke.
Now, Carolina has once again risen to the top of the rankings, and like before, once again they will have to try and beat the Blue Devils to stay there.
Saturday night, the two rivals face off for the ACC regular season championship. It is a familiar position for the two programs to be involved in. They have met many times before with conference titles on the line.
Since losing to Duke earlier in the year, the Tarheels have played very well. Strong enough, in fact, that voters have them as the number one team in the country.
Duke has stumbled a bit since the teams last meeting. They lost to an unranked Miami Hurricane team in a game in which they were unable to shoot the ball efficiently.
Yet though the tough times, they have remained near the top of the rankings. The winner of this contest will most likely be awarded with a number one seed heading into the NCAA Tournament, while the loser will have to win the conference tournament to get back to a one seed.
